Police hold kidnapper; rescue minor girl

Hyderabad, Jan 4: A 28-year-old kidnapper was arrested on Sunday, Jan 2, in Warangal town in Andhra Pradesh. Sultan Bazar Police and East Zone Task Force, successfully grilled the perpetrator and rescued a 14-year-girl from his custody.

On Friday, T Gundaiah Chary, father of the victim, lodged a complaint in the police station stating that the accused name Praveen Kumar alias Raj Kumar had kidnapped his 14-year-old girl from her school.

Sultan Bazar police and East Zone Task Force jointly performed the rescue operation. Based on reliable information rescue team raided on the hideout of the kidnapper's house in Warangal and rescued the girl.

According to police, the victim and Praveen are close relatives. Praveen, who works as a driver, often use to visit the girl's house and they both became friends. The accused took advantage of it and forcibly tried to marry the victim by kidnapping. Praveen has been ordered to judicial custody.
