"Rajesh and Nupur (Aarushi's mother) had earlier stated that they used to lock Aarushi's bedroom at night. The door of Aarushi's bedroom had a lock which could be opened from the inside without a key, but once shut, it could not be opened from the outside without a key," stated CBI's closing report.
The report also emphasised, " Aarushi's parents could not explain whether they had closed the door at night and why they could not find the keys in the morning."
The report, finally, claimed that there was strong "circumstantial evidence" against the slain girl's father, Rajesh Talwar.
However, Talwars' lawyer claimed, "Conducting post-mortem is a statutory function of the doctor of a government hospital. If a doctor gives such a statement, he admits to making a false report. Has the CBI recommended any action against the doctor? It is merely using his statement selectively to cover up its (CBI) inadequacies."
