Is China preparing for war?


Beijing, Dec 31: China's defence minister Liang Guanglie has booted diplomacy through the back door and has revealed its real intentions for the world to see. The minister in a statement said that the country's military will prepare itself for "military conflict in every strategic direction" in the next five years.

The minister also added that the Chinese military will speed up the modernization and development of its equipment. The statement will change diplomatic relationship among other countries in the continent.

"We may be living in peaceful times, but we can never forget war, never send the horses south or put the bayonets and guns away," defence minister Liang Guanglie said in an interview to a state-backed newspaper.

China's updation of its military might and its military infrastructure has become the reason of worry for neighbours like India, South Korea and Japan.
