PM calls for high-level talks on Telangana

New Delhi, Dec 29: PM Manmohan Singh has called for a high-level meeting on Wednesday, Dec 29. To review on the security in Andhra Pradesh ahead of Justice Srikrishna Committee report. Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister P Chidambaram and Defense Minister AK Antony to be part of the talks.

Indian govt appointed Justice Srikrishna Committee on Feb 3, 2010. The committee was constitute to examine the situation in Andhra Pradesh related to demand of separate Telangana state, as well as the demand to maintain United Andhra pradesh.

On Friday, Dec 31, the committee is to submit the report over the Telangana issue, which would decide the Ahndra pradesh future. The committee gives report suggesting "several options with their pros and cons" on the statehood issue.

The govt of India appointed the committee, after the demand of separate Telangana state reached peak of violence. The people around the world are anxiously waiting to know, whether in 2011 it will be United Andhra radesh or get ramified into Telangana and Andhra.
