Telangana indefinite strike shows definite result
Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao participated in hunger strike on Monday, along with nine MPs in MLA quarters. The participants undermined the request of Congress govt, which asked to end up the strike.
The Andhra Pradesh govt decided to withdraw 135 cases against 835 students. But MPs made it crystal clear that they would not end the hunger strike, unless all the cases from Nov 2009 to Sep 2010 are withdrawn completely.
Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, requested members to call off the strike because it is causing an embarrassment for their own govt. However even his request was undermined by activist.
It is expected that govt can withdraw remaining 970 cases to prevent itself from the further embarrassment. During the anti-Telangana protest in three regions of Andhra Pradesh 1667 cases were charged against 8047 people.
