New Delhi, Dec 26: Two days have already passed but still Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials kept mum on their sudden "too little, too late" raid on CWG organising committee chief Suresh Kalmadi's residences on Dec 24. But certain sources hinted that CBI found out one letter which was reportedly a blackmailing letter to Kalmadi.

While CBI officials stated, "We do not comment on the ongoing investigations," other sources confirmed about the letter as claimed, "The sleuths are also trying to verify the contents of the letter seized from his (Kalmadi) residence."

"The agency is not sure of the authenticity of the letter and has sent it for forensic examination. In the letter, the blackmailer had allegedly demanded Rs 4 crore in exchange for a CD (compact disc) carrying some explosive information against Mr Kalmadi," added the sources.

The sources also informed that key files containing information on tendering, budgetary allocation and contract details were missing from the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (CWG OC) office.

However, Kalmadi's personal secretary Lalit Bhanot, whose residence has also been raided by CBI on Dec 24, claimed, "He never told me about it (blackmailing letter)."
