AP: Naidu stoops to Opposition; calls off fast
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president Naidu hold an indefinite hunger strike on Dec 17, demanding more compensation for the rain and flood-hit farmers of Andhra Pradesh.

Citing Naidu's health condition, national leaders like Prakash Karat (CPI-M), AB Bardhan (CPI), Sharad Yadav (Janata Dal-United), Om Prakash Chautala (INLD) and few more flew down to Hyderabad from the capital by a special flight and persuaded Naidu to call off his fast.

"We
want

stated
one
of
the
ten
leaders
and
also
included,
"It
(fight
for
farmers)
is
now
going
to
be
a
long-drawn
fight."
In the sake of creating more pressure on the state government as well as on the central government, the leaders decided to organise a joint rally in Guntur on Thursday, Dec 30.
However, after ending his fast, Naidu now demanded a larger relief fund for the ached farmers of the state.
