Can BJP sack corrupt ministers, asks Sonia

New Delhi, Dec 19: Congress President Sonia Gandhi has slammed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its corruption, saying that Congress made its ministers to resign over corruption allegations but BJP lacks the courage to do so.

Addressing the 83rd Congress plenary, Sonia said that Congress has zero tolerance on corruption. She added that government needs to set up a new system to track cases of corruption.

Sonia Gandhi hits out BJP for personally attacking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. She said that PM has showed courage to tolerate the attacks during the BJP allegations. She also added that under Manmohan, the economy of the country has developed rapidly.

"The PM is a man of integrity and dignity. The Opposition has made unsavoury, personal attacks on him. I want to say the party is with him and completely supports him," said Sonia.

Congress President also asked supporters to treat party first and to stick with its core values. She reminded about huddles faced by Congress during the past 125 years and urged for support to overcome the weakness.

"Our party has seen many ups and downs, many challenges. We can look back with pride. It is important for us to introspect the inheritance we have got, how far have we stayed steady on it. We are not here to only celebrate our past. We are here for a new decision of progress," she said.
