New Delhi, Dec 13: Just four days after Indian ambassador to United States, Meera Shankar, underwent for a 'pat-down' search, media reported that another Indian diplomat faced the same experience in United States airport.

India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Hardeep Puri, was asked to remove his turban during a security check in Houston Airport. Despite of his diplomatic status, officials continued the search.

When Puri protested against this, he was made to wait for over half-an-hour in a 'holding room'.

This incident happened around a couple weeks ago, but popped up after India raised strong concerns over the pat-down search of Meera Kumar.

Meera Shankar was subjected to a pat-down on Dec 9 when she was leaving from Jackson-Evers International Airport after attending a function in Mississippi State University. Despite of her diplomatic status, she was pulled up for apparently wearing a sari.

Later, External Affairs Minister SM Krishna told media on Monday, Dec 13 that India had discussed the issues with US officials and will be soon be sorted out.
