Haryana has prepared litigation policy on Centre pattern: CM Hooda

Ellenabad (Haryana), Dec.11 (ANI): Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday said the state has prepared a litigation policy on the pattern of the Centre and a proposal to set up 96 evening courts has been approved.

Speaking at the inaugural function of judicial complex constructed at a cost of Rs 3.37 crore here, Hooda said: "Video conferencing facility has been provided in 32 courts and 25 jails of the state while the state government has also set up Counseling and Conciliation Centres in all districts."

In order to reduce the number of cases in the courts, Hooda also called upon the lawyers' fraternity to play an important role in "providing quick, timely and economical justice to the people".

Hooda further said the state government has taken a number of initiatives to strengthen the infrastructure for the judicial system in the State so that needy people could get prompt justice at their doorstep.

The Haryana Chief Minister said four evening courts have been set up in Faridabad, Gurgaon, Hisar and Karnal while a proposal to set up 96 more such courts has been approved.

"Family courts have also been set up at Gurgaon, Faridabad, Hisar and Bhiwani to settle family and matrimonial disputes," said Hooda.

"16 fast track courts have been sanctioned and 11 such courts have started functioning and have so far solved 31,000 cases," he added.

The judicial complex was inaugurated by Justice Ranjan Gogoi, a senior judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. (ANI)
