Bangalore, Dec 10 (ANI): The concluding day of the 250th anniversary and 9th reunion celebrations of Army Service Corps (ASC) kicked off here on Thursday.

The day ended with paying tribute to the untiring and indomitable spirit of the animals forming integral part of ASC.

Talking to media persons, Colonel Ranvir Singh Yadav, Team Leader of Horse Team said that training of the horses and the riders is very systematic and progressive.

"Training of the horses in the riders is very systematic and progressive. It takes lot of time. Training of the horses more depends on the association of the ideas. Further, it is a combination of the men and the animals," Yadav added.

The audience was amused by enthralling performances by trick riding team of mules from an animal transport unit.

"Their main work is to travel such places with their animals where nobody can travel easily and drop the items. If that understanding is there with your animal and that training part sustains then with the help of it these riders would be able to work more efficiently," said S. Srivastava, Team Leader of a Mule Team.

Army Service Corps is the only Regiment in the Army to have operationally committed horses and mules on its establishment. The continued bond between man and horse mount over the years has resulted in producing outstanding riders, polo players and mounted sports equines. (ANI)
