WikiLeaks Modi cables: BJP wants action against US

New Delhi, Dec 6: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused United States for not sharing the information about terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba's plot to assassinate Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP leaders on Monday, Dec 6 said that US should have given the information to India. BJP also a demanded the government to take appropriate steps following the WikiLeaks exposure of the terrorist plot against Modi.

"The US should have convened the information to India. There was total inaction on the part of the US even after having the information," BJP leader Balbir Punj said.

The BJP leader also added that government has not taken any steps even after the report. He described that Modi has been facing threats from inside and outside India.

On Saturday, Dec 4, the whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks revealed the Lashkar-e-Taiba plot against Narendra Modi through the release of US diplomatic cables.

According to the cables sent by US States Secretary, Lashkar-e-Taiba has made a plan to assassinate Narendra Modi using car. The plan was made after 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack.
