Scotland Yard has been preparing for the arrest of Assange once they received the Swedish warrant. The delay of his arrest has frustrated US government, which faced serious criticism after the release of the diplomatic cables.
Former US vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin has described Assange as "an anti-American operative with blood on his hands" and asked for his elimination.
US government also forced the domain provider for WikiLeaks to terminate the account. But WikiLeaks started the release of data using a new Swiss domain. Later this domain also went offline which forced them to shift to a Swedish domain.
Interpol has issued a 'Red Notice' against Assange asking people to contact police with information about his whereabouts.
