Srinagar, Dec 2 (ANI): Commenting on the current scenario in Kashmir, the chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that elements who disrupt their meetings and seminars cannot succeed.

Talking to reporters here, Farooq said: "Yes, there are elements who are trying to disrupt our meetings and seminars, but, I believe that these elements cannot succeed. At the end of the day, there is a vast majority in India who welcome interaction, who welcome debate, who welcome our coming there."

"We might have political differences, we might have ideological differences but that does not mean that we can't behave as civilised people and democratic people and talk across the table. These elements are in minority, these are the fringe elements who are trying to disturb and make a one minute news out of their outbursts," he added.

"Whenever we tried to have a dialogue with the Indians, we were always attacked by them," he said.

"We are told that interlocutors are being sent for talks, but when we try to have a dialogue with the Indians, all we are attacked, our voices are being stopped, and we are targeted for violence," he added.

Stating that the Kashmiri Pandits living in the valley are very much part of Kashmir, he said: "Kashmiri Pandits have the full right like the Muslims in the valley.

"I also want to say that there are some unwanted rudiments who are trying to influence the Kashmiri Pandits. They are trying to create division between Kashmiri Muslims and Kashmiri Hindus or between Hindus and Muslims, so that a message can be sent that the people of Kashmir are divided," he said. (ANI)
