Scottish women sashay in mini skirts despite freezing cold!

London, Nov 29 (ANI): Temperatures in parts of the United Kingdom might have plummeted to the coldest on record for November, but that has not affected women in the North and Scotland from wearing mini skirts.

Researchers have found that like temperatures, which have plunged to -17 degrees Celsius, mini skirts in the area are the shortest in the country.

Northern lasses wear skirts that are on average 17cm shorter than girls in the south, reports the Daily Mail.

Debenhams found that the average skirt length in Edinburgh is just 30cm while in Glasgow and Preston it is 32cm and in Liverpool women's skirts are on average 33cm long.

The study also found further south in the country the skirts become longer with girls in Bournemouth wearing skirts 47cm long.

In Southampton and Cantebury, the average length of skirt was 46cm.

The findings come as heavy snowfall blanketed much of the country, including parts of Scotland and Yorkshire. Temperatures in Scotland, where women wear the shortest skirts in the country, are predicted to reach -20 degrees Celsius in the week ahead.

The freezing weather has also increased the amount of mini skirts sold in the North. Figures revealed that sales of mini skirts at a store in Newcastle rose a staggering 28 percent.

Sales of short skirts in Glasgow also increased by 21 percent and in Sheffield 19 percent. But a similar pattern of covering up continued in the South where stores reported more sales of hats, gloves and scarves.

Sales of thermal underwear at the Oxford Street store in London were up by 71 percent. (ANI)
