New Delhi, Nov 23: Pressure on Congress led UPA government has been deepened as its two most powerful allies DMK and Trinamool Congress joined the chorus of the Oppositions to initiate Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe in 2G spectrum scam.

During the all party meeting, held by Finance Minister and senior Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee on Nov 22, TR Baalu from DMK and Sudeep Bandhopadhyay from Trinamool reportedly openly demanded for the JPC probe.

The all party meeting was arranged to break the 2-week long logjam in the winter session of the Parliament as the Oppostions stick with their adamant demand of JPC.

However, the government continued to reject the demand of JPC and emphasised that Public Accounts Committee (PAC) probe headed by former BJP president Murli Manohar Joshi is enough for the 2G spectrum scandal.
