UN removes JK from disputes list; Pak opposes
Pakistan has objected the omission of Jammu and Kashmir from the list of disputes by saying that it was an inadvertent omission, as JK is one of the oldest disputes on agenda of the Security Council.
While speaking at the UN General Assembly session Amjad Hussain B Sial, Pakistan's acting envoy to the UN, said that JK is one of the oldest disputes on agenda of the Security Council.
"Jammu and Kashmir dispute was not mentioned in the context of unresolved long-running situations," said Amjad Hussain B Sial.
"We understand this was an inadvertent omission, as Jammu and Kashmir is one of the oldest disputes on agenda of the Security Council," he added.
Pakistan has been trying to raise Kashmir issue in international level after India gained support from US for permanent United Nations Security Council seat.
