Arrest Raja for biggest scam in history: AIADMK

Chennai, Nov 15: All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) chief Jayalalithaa demanded the arrest of A Raja, who resigned the post of Union Telecom Minister on Sunday, Nov 14, for his involvement in 2G spectrum scam.

Jayalalithaa, the leader of the Opposition in Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, asked for Raja's arrest through a press statement issued on Monday, Nov 15. She described 2G spectrum scam as the biggest scam in the history of mankind.

"This overdue resignation is not a case of scaling the moral high ground. Raja had been mocking at all constitutional institutions including the office of the prime minister," Jayalalithaa said in the statement.

Jayalalithaa told that Raja, Karunanidhi family and some other people close to Raja have gained from the scam. She called for arrest of Raja under Prevention of Corruption Act.

"Raja himself should be charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act and should be arrested and tried for perpetrating the biggest scam in the history of mankind," she added.
