Manhunt on for murderers of Indian-origin woman in South Africa
Capetown, Nov.15 (ANI): A manhunt has been launched for the men who killed a newlywed Indian-origin woman, who was on her honeymoon in South Africa.
The Daily Mail named the dead British Indian woman as Anni Dewani, 28. Dewani and her husband Shrien were hijacked in Gugulethu over the weekend, Western Cape police said.
Lieutenant Colonel Andre Traut said early on Monday that there were no developments so far in the search.
The couple had been married for a fortnight. Police said two armed men who hijacked their shuttle service vehicle attacked them.
They arrived in the country on Thursday.
Police said the couple was apparently returning from a dinner in Somerset West at the time of the attack.
A search for the hijacked vehicle - a Volkswagen Sharan - led to it being found in Lingelethu West. The kidnapped wife's body was found on the back seat of the vehicle.
The attackers are still at large. (ANI)
