Asian Games billiards: Advani enters quarter final

Guangzhou, Nov 13: Indian billiards player and defending champion Pankaj Advani entered the quarter finals of the English billiards singles at the Asian Games 2010 on Saturday, Nov 13.

Advani defeated Indonesian Ricky Yang 3-1 to sail into the quarter finals. He will meet Thailand's Praput Chaithanasakun in the quarter final.

Beating Singapore, Indian women team also marched to the quarter-final of the 6-red snooker team event. Indian team comprised of Vidya Vishwanathan Pillai, Chitra Magimarajan, Anuja Chandra and Magimarajan will face Thailand in last eight matches.

However, another Indian and bronze medalist in Doha Asian Games 2006, Geet Sethi failed to Nay Thway of Myanmar and ousted from the tournament.
