New Delhi, Nov 12: After the Congress put the ball in DMK's court on Telecom Minister A Raja's fate over the 2G spectrum scam, the ally of the union UPA government has gone into defensive mode. DMK MP Kanimozhi, who met Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday, Nov 11, is learnt to have told him that sacking of Raja was unacceptable.

Kanimozhi, who is the daughter of DMK supremo M Karunanidhi, met Mukherjee in the Parliament. As per reports, she is understood to have explained the party's position on the issue, reasserting that Raja should not be removed from the cabinet.

While the BJP-led Opposition stalled the Parliament for the second day on the alleged irregularities in the allocation of the 2G spectrum, the DMK continued to defend A Raja stating that whatever the Telecom Minister did was according to the TRAI norms.

"Why should he step down? Whatever he did was according to TRAI norms," party spokesperson T K S Elangovan said.

"Let the CBI inquiry into the issue end first," he added.
