Karachi, Nov 11(ANI): A petition has been filed in the Sindh High Court against Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari over the legality of holding two offices of interest.

According to the daily Times, Supreme Court advocate Rasheed Ahmad Akhund filed the petition urging the court to declare that Zardari could not hold two offices.

Akhund told the court that Zardari must resign as the head of state or as the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chief.

He claimed that no person could hold two offices at the same time, as it was illegal and unlawful.

Earlier, reacting to similar petition in the Lahore High Court, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani had came out openly in favour of Zardari, saying that there was no legal bar on holding two offices at a time.

"President Zardari can keep two offices at a time and there is no constitutional or legal bar whatsoever," Gilani had said. (ANI)
