New Delhi, Nov 9: Congress party followed "high morals" against Suresh kalmadi and Ashok Chavan and forced them to quit, but failed to act against Telecom Minister A Raja over the 2G spectrum scam.

Following the allegations in Adarsh Housing scam and corruption in CWG preparations, Congress High Command accepted the resignations of Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and Suresh Kalmadi On Tuesday, Nov 9. But Congress told the party cannot on Raja involvement in the 2G spectrum scam as the matter is sub judice.

"The matter of A Raja has been in focus for many months now and the matter is now sub judice, pending in court. So until the court takes a view, it will be difficult for us to comment or take any further action," Congress spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan said.

Jayanthi Natarajan also added that if any action is needed, then, it has to be taken by Prime Minister as Raja belongs to Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), an important ally of United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.

“The ultimate prerogative will be of the prime minister, they are coalition partners,"she said.

Earlier Natarajan described Congress' action against Chavan and Kalmadi as the reflection of high morals of the party.
