New Delhi, Nov 8: US President Barack Obama began his third and final day of his maiden visit to India by dubbing the Asian giant a "world power" while speaking at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Monday, Nov 8.

"India is not a rising power but a world power," he said.

The American President, accompanied by the first lady Michelle Obama, was accorded with a ceremonial reception and presented with Guard of Honour.

The first couple were first received at the presidential palace forecourt by Indian President Pratibha Patil and her husband Devisingh Patil, and later greeted by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Gursharan Kaur.

Expressing his gratitude for the welcome and affection shown to him during his visit, Obama opined that his visit would further deeped the overall Indo-US ties.

He also termed the partnership between India and United States as the defining moment of 21st century.
