Delhi: Obama to be received similarly like Bush

New Delhi, Nov 7: Similar gesture, which was shown to former US President George W Bush when he visited India in 2006, will be made to Barack Obama also as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh reportedly will personally receive Obama in New Delhi on Nov 7.

Singh, who is expected to be accompanied by his wife Gursharan Kaur, will greet Obama and US First Lady Michelle Obama.

The move of the prime minister will break the protocol as according to it, the Prime Minister of India is not supposed to receive President of United States of America.

According to sources, the prime minister will be hosting a private dinner for the US first couple at his official residence, 7 Race Course Road.

US President Obama, who is on a four-day visit to India, will reach the capital on Sunday, Nov 7 after his Mumbai visit on Nov 6.

On Tuesday, Nov 9, Obama for will leave for Indonesia and he will also visit South Korea and Japan during his 14-day Asian trip.
