Srinagar, Nov 6: Though curfew was lifted on Saturday, Nov 6 from all parts of Kashmir, but normal life was disrupted in the Valley due to a three-day strike call given by hardline Hurriyat Conference to highlight the Kashmir issue while the US President was in India.

Sources say as of now situation across the Valley is peaceful and Geelani has asked people to observe 'civil curfew" for three days, when Barack Obama is in India.

Further reports said markets and towns of the Valley wore a deserted look with shops, business establishments and private offices remaining closed and public transport off the roads.

Meanwhile, security forces were petrolling different areas of Srinagar to maintain law and order and curb any protests by the separatists.

Kashmir Valley has been in the grip of protests, strikes and curfew since Jun when a 17-year-old boy was killed by a tear smoke shell allegedly fired by police at Rajouri Kadal area of the city.
