The "heinous" crimes taking place at a tutorial-cum-hostel called Malda Coaching Centre at Mokdumpur, run by the accused Koushik Das, came to light when a Class IV student mustered courage to tell his father about the sexual abuse, reported a leading newspaper.
One of Koushik's students reportedly told his father that his teacher would make them participate in sexual acts, force them to give him a massage, and make them watch abusive scenes in his mobile phone.
"I went to leave my son at the hostel on Tuesday. He gave me the other boy's letter and also told me about his own experience. I was stunned to hear the allegation and took him home at once.
"I got in touch with the other boy's father in Kaliachak. He
read the letter and said his son had also made the same allegation.
Then we lodged the police complaint," the father of the boy from
is quoted as saying.
Koushik Das has been running the coaching centre under English Bazaar PS for the last 12 years, reported Times of India. Most of the students of Class IV, who come here to prepare for the admission test to the next class are from a rural background and belong to the 8-12 age group.
Speaking on the crime, SP Bhuban Mandal told the newspaper, "This is a heinous crime. We have got complaints from four guardians and arrested the teacher. The boys have been sent for medical tests."
