The speculations erected as US officials informed that Obama would speak on terrorism and 26/11 attack plotter Headley at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai during his India visit.
"The president will have an event that will focus on this (terrorism) as soon as he arrives at the Taj hotel. On the Headley case," he added, "we shared information relating to terrorist threats as we had them at the time."
Stating about Obama's main agenda in India visit, the officials also stated, "I can assure you that strengthening counter-terrorism cooperation will be on the agenda."
US also slapped sanctions against Pakistan-based terror groups Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).
The sanctions banned all transactions with US citizens and companies and froze any of the targets' assets under US jurisdiction.
