2 killed, 50 injured in Serbian earthquake
An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter Scale was felt in Kraljevo, about 80 miles south of Belgrade, which damaged buildings, destroyed roads and infrastructure, sources said.
After the quake the city was left without electricity, running water or telephone lines.
According to the Serbia"s Interior Minister Ivica Dacic, a couple in their 50s died in a Kraljevo suburb when the roof of their house collapsed, while 50 people were injured elsewhere in the town.
“The most important thing is that people calm down, that there is no panic and that the city authorities function," Dacic said.
In the earthquake many older buildings, local hospital,town hall and cars were destroyed.
