A head constable posted as driver with state Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) office when the encounter took place has reportedly told the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) that the accused Santram Sharma and Ajay Parmar raped Kausabi before eliminating her and burning her body.
The constable, identified as Lakhubha Chudasama, is quoted in the supplementary charge sheet filed by the CBI last week as informing that he was the driver of the ATS vehicle used by the accused Santram Sharma and Ajay Parmar.
Chudasama also told the investigative agency that Parmar had told him how they brought Sohrabuddin and his wife Kausarbi to Arham farm in Gandhinagar from Sangli in Maharashtra while giving a detailed account of how the fake encounter was carried out and who all were involved in it.
"With regard to Kausarbi, I say that Parmar and Sharma had told me that SI Balkrishna Chaubey (another accused in the case) who was deputed to look after Kausarbi, had raped her in the farmhouse," he said.
He also revealed that after the encounter, Chaubey, Sharma and Parmar had taken his vehicle to Ankleshwar without his knowledge and refused to make entry into the log book of the vehicle.
According to the CBI, Kausarbi was killed and er body burnt by the accused in DG Vanzara's native village Illol in Sabarkantha district. Her ashes were thrown into the Narmada river near Ankleshwar.
