Lahore, Oct 25(ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that his government is focused on economic growth through enhanced global trade.

"Pakistan is consistently seeking access to America and European markets for trade, which means we want to get rid of aid, and determined to improve country's economic health through enhanced global trade" the Nation quoted Gilani, as saying.

Gilani said this while talking to a six-member delegation of the UK-based Pakistan Journalists Association at his residence in Lahore on Sunday

The Prime Minister further appreciated the efforts of foreign-based Pakistani journalists for creating awareness among the Pakistani diaspora about the country's flood victims.

"You have done a noble job and you should also make efforts to improve country's image in the comity of nations particularly in the UK," Gilani said.

He also highlighted that Pakistan was simultaneously facing a number of challenges.

"We are already in the middle of war against terrorism and facing economic recession, while another disaster came in the shape of floods, which delayed the sensitisation of the world to realise Pakistan's problems and destructions due to flood calamity," he said. (ANI)
