Congress cries foul over Sharad's attack on Rahul
Speaking at an election rally at Fatua in Bihar on Monday, Oct 25, Sharad Yadav launched a very strong strong attack on the Gandhi-Nehru family at large and Congress General Secretary, Rahul Gandhi in particular.
"What does Rahul Gandhi know about politics? Somebody wrote on the paper and gave it to you and you read it out. We are an unfortunate country. He should be thrown into the Ganga," the Janata Dal (United) leader said, while spitting venom on the Congress over dynastic politics.
Rahul Gandhi, on the other hand, stepped up his attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the development of the state.
"All the states are developing. It's now Bihar's turn to develop. Centre sends lot of schemes to the state, but unfortunately it does not reach to the people of the state. It reaches to the rich lot but does not reach to the poor. We are here to change that," the youngster, who is in Bihar to campaign for Congress candidates, said at an election rally in Kuchaikote in Gopalganj district of Bihar.
Reacting sharply to Sharad Yadav's attack, Congress has urged the Election Commission to take strict action against him.
"We strongly condemn Yadav's remark against the Gandhi-Nehru family... The Commission must take cognisance and take strict action against him," Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) spokesperson Prem Chandra Mishra said, alleging that Yadav's remark was not only an insult but criminal as well.
