Bomb hoax at Infosys campus in B'lore

Banglore, Oct 22: After Biocon, Infosys Technologies on Thursday, Oct 21 received a phone call informing that a bomb was planted in the premises of the IT major, which created panic waves on the employees but it turned out to be a hoax after a seven-hour search by police.

"A phone call received by a receptionist at Infosys at 9:30 am that a bomb was planted in the campus turned out to be a hoax after a seven-hour search," Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Division B N S Reddy said.

"The call has been traced to a PCO in J P Nagar II phase and investigation is on," he added.

In view of increasing number of such calls, Reddy said he has instructed all police stations in the south-west division not only to provide lists of PCOs, but also instruct PCO owners to record the names and addresses of those making the calls.
