CWG corruption: GoM to meet on Oct 18
This is the first meeting after the Games ended, as the clamour for a thorough investigation into alleged corruption in the Commonwealth Games 2010 gets louder.
Meanwhile, the Central Vigilance Commission has stepped up its probe and has sent a reminder to all agencies - like the DDA and CPWD - involved in constructing and setting up facilities - to hand over internal reports by oct 31.
After both Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi isolated Kalmadi, Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit did not hesitate to accuse at the CWG chairman.
In such situation, Kalmadi was left with no other option but turn defensive. On Sunday, Oct 17 he hit back at Shiela Dikshit, saying her aspersions on corruption in the Organising Committee (OC) were "most disappointing and uncalled for" and that she must indulge in self-reflection on corruption in her own departments.
