But now the scene has totally changed with emerge of Chinese manufactures and small Indian companies. Most of these companies offer high-end mobiles at affordable price. One of the newly entered handset maker in India, Videocon Mobile Phones, has announced the launch of an Android based smartphone Videocon Zeus in India.
The new Videocon Zeus has 3.2 inch capacitive display with multi-touch support and a 5 megapixel camera. The Android 2.1 operating system is powered with a Qualcomm 600MHz processor.
The features also include Bluetooth, WiFi, A-GPS and Push Mail service. The new Videocon Zeus is priced at Rs 12,900.
"Indian mobile phone market today is very dynamic and price sensitive. With the new launches, we try to get interesting new elements in the industry and are very positive that it will create the desired newness in the industry," said Rahul Goel, COO, Videocon Mobile Phones during the launch.
