KBC 4 rocks; 10 sec ad slots sold for Rs 3.5 lakh

Mumbai, Oct 12: On the opening day, a 10 second ad slot for Amitabh Bachchan hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC 4) have been sold for Rs 3.5 lakh each, while the reality show hit a record breaking TRP on Oct 11.

As the TRP of KBC 4 was high, industry experts expected that the ad rates would go up soon as top brands already emerged in a tough fight to put their brands' ads in the show.

The Television Rating Point (TRP) KBC 4 on its very opening show on Oct 11 pushed all other television shows back at the time band of 9 pm-10:30 pm.

KBC 4, which has been broadcasted in Sony Entertainment Television, grabbed highest average TRP of 5 percent and repelled the TRP of Big Boss 4 (on Colors) to 3.4 percent on Oct 11.

On Oct 3, the opening episode of Bigg Boss 4, hosted by Salman Khan, clashed with the Commonwealth Games (CWG) opening, and had still managed to grab attention. But it couldn't sustain the competition from KBC 4.

Other channels like Star Plus, Zee TV and Imagine TV that telecast fiction shows during the time-band, too failed to match KBC with average ratings of 3.2, 2.9 and 1.1 percent, respectively.
