New Delhi, Oct 6: As expected, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has lashed out at Congress General Secretary, Rahul Gandhi, for equating the Hindutva group with banned outfit, Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).

"He should brush up his knowledge before making meaningless statements. He should know the difference between RSS and banned outfits and know the history of Congress party, which has been accused of fundamentalism in the last six decades," RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav said.

Making a scathing comment on Rahul's foreign descent, Madhav added, "He (Rahul) should have better knowledge of India. He should learn more before making such statements."

During his three-day visit to Madhya Pradesh, the young Congress leader had on Tuesday, Oct 6 equated RSS with SIMI, dubbing them both 'fanatical' and 'fundamentalist'.
