New Delhi, Oct 6: The 'great Indian gold rush' continued at the Commonwealth Games 2010 as Renu Bala Chanu claimed a thumping victory in the women's weightlifting 58 kg category.
Renu's performance was extraordinary as she proved that no one else deserve the precious yellow medal more than her.
The Indian athlete lifted 197 kg, which was five times more than what her close competition, Australian silver-medallist Seen Lee, managed to lift.
At a time with Indian shooters and wrestlers reign the gold medal-winners list, Renu is the first one to bag a gold in the sport.
However, weightlifters Soniya Chanu, Sandhya Rani Devi, Sukhen Dey and Srinivasa Rao Valluri have already clinched silver and bronze medals.
