California, Oct 5: The search engine giant Google Inc has acquired the technology firm BlindType to improve its touchscreen features on Android mobile operating sytem.

BlindType is a startup firm that offers new intuitive technology for touchscreen based typing for consumers. The BlindType technology is designed to work on Google Android and Apple iOS platform. The BlindType technology will help Google to improve touchscreen based applications on Android devices.

"With BlindType, users can type on the touch screen the way they are used to, but without the traditional need to constantly focus on the keyboard. Although this would typically lead to countless spelling mistakes that would be impossible to autocorrect, BlindType predicts what the user intended to write with a success rate not previously seen on any other system," describes BlindType website about their technology.

Google Inc is planning to extend its services to all fields. Earlier in Aug 2010, Google had purchased Social networking service Angestro to compete with social networking giant Facebook. Google Inc has already acquired more than 23 firms till the date in 2010 alone.
