New Delhi, Oct 4: The Indian womens table tennis team started dominating the Commonwealth Games with a 3-0 win against Sri Lanka in a Group D match at the Yamuna Sports complex on Monday, Oct 4.
The Indian team did not face any difficulty against the Sri Lankans and wrapped the match in less than an hour.
Shamini Kumareshan put India in front by outclassing Nuwani Navodya 11-9 11-9 11-7.
In the second match, Mouma Das thrashed Ishara Madurangi Darshika 11-4 11-5 11-4. Where as, Veteran Poulomi Ghatak won the third singles against Kavindi Rukmali 11-8, 11-8, 11-7.
A total of 21 medals, including seven gold medals, are up for grabs in table tennis.
Meanwhile, Australian women paddlers also started on a great note by beating Wales 3-0.
