Bihar: Congress workers burn party office

Patna, Oct 4: Ahead of Bihar assembly polls 2010, the Congress workers burnt party office in Purnia district on Monday, Oct 4, over the ticket distribution and denial of party nominations in the district.

The agitators raised slogans infront of the party office against Congress, "unfair distribution of tickets."

They also burnt Lok Shabha speaker, Meira Kumar's effigy by alleging that she provided party ticket to her nephew, Raj Shekhar from Sasaram assembly seat with the power of influence.

However, police official informed that no FIR has been lodged against unknown persons in connection with burning of the party office.
