Ayodhya: After Kerala, JK put on high alert

Jammu, Sep 29: Ahead of the Ayodhya verdict on Thursday, Sep 30 an alert has been sounded in Jammu and Kashmir to maintain peace, communal harmony and law and order, police said.

“Police and other security agencies have been put on alert. Peace committees of various religions have been set up in the districts to maintain communal harmony, peace and law and order," senior officials said.

State DGP also assured that enough forces would be available to deal with any situation in the region.

He added districts have been divided into security and peace zones with prominent citizens, religious persons and people of various faiths and walks of life as members.
