Nithari Killing: CBI court convicts Koli as guilty

New Delhi, Sep 27: A special CBI court convicted the prime accused of 2006 Nithari killing case, Surinder Koli on Monday, Sep 27.

CBI lawyer said on Sep 27, "The court today convicted Surinder Koli for the rape and murder of Rachna at Nithari in 2006. The quantum of sentence will be pronounced tomorrow."

Koli and his master, Mohinder Pandher were primarily the main accused of kidnap, rape and murder of a nine-year-old Rachna in 2006.

After Rachna went untraceable, her parents lodged a police complaint. Her parents later identified Rachna's clothes and other

belongings from the D-5 residence of Pandher when a search was carried out.

Gradually, it was revealed that the duo was not only accused of Rachna's murder but they also were charged of 19 other murder case but following short of evidences, Pandher was set free.

However, in 2009, the duo were sentenced to death in the Rimpa Haldar case in the first verdict in the Nithari killings. But Pandher was released by the Allahabad High Court on Sep 11, 2009.
