Islamabad, Sep 27(ANI): In its latest bout of sabre-rattling, Pakistan has said that Kashmir is not an integral part of India as it is an internationally recognised issue.

Foreign Office (FO) spokesman Abdul Basit said that the issue could not be resolved under the constitution of India.

"It was an international issue and the United Nations had passed resolutions for its solution and ultimately it would have to be resolved in accordance with the Kashmiris aspirations," The Daily Times quoted Basit, as saying.

"When there will be a change in Indian policy which has been inflexible in the past, then certainly the talks will prove beneficial between the two countries," he added.

Basit's comments come after Indian External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna said that Kashmir is an internal matter of India.

"We have taken certain actions in terms of assessing what needs to be done in Kashmir. As far as Pakistan is concerned, they are in illegal occupation of certain parts of Jammu and Kashmir," Krishna had said.

"I think that it is desirable that they vacate that first and then start advising India about how to go about doing things in Kashmir," he added. (ANI)
