AP: Judge settles 260 cases in 1 day, makes record
Yesuratnam, junior judge in Venkatagiri in Andhra Pradesh's Nellore district had settled 260 cases on Friday, Sep 24. Out of 260, 157 were criminal cases and 103 were civil disputes. He handed out convictions to the accused in 13 cases and dismissed as many of 205 cases for want of evidence.
Court officials told that cases of 2008, 2009 and some cases of 2010 were disposed off. Yesuratnam joined Venkatagiri court on May 2010 and has settled more than 600 cases.
