Wellington, Sep 24: After delaying on its decision, on Sep 24, New Zealand finally confirmed that the athletes from the country would definitely participate in Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

The delegation, which came to investigate the situation at the games' village and most importantly the security of the participants, approved the security cover at Delhi games.

New Zealand earlier stated that the country would inform about their participation decision on Sep 25. But they confirmed their participation a day before their deadline.

However, the country's official earlier stated, "Our responsibility is to ensure there is a safe, secure environment for athletes to arrive in but we want the games to go ahead as do athletes who have trained for a long time."
