Martyr's wife gets back her stolen ornaments‎

Chhapra, Sep 24: Vinita Kamte, wife of 26/11 martyr Ashok Kamte, was handed over her stolen ornaments worth more than Rs 50 lakh which was stolen on Dec 26, 2008.

After hearing about the killing of Ashok Kamte, in the 26/11 terror attack, the entire Kamte family went to Mumbai, and the sole person to remain behind at the Kamte's Pune residence was their trusted domestic helper Jai Prakash Sah.

Jai Prakash Sah, who was from Bihar's Saran district broke into Kamtes' wardrobe and stole the ornaments. Later which he handed over it to his father Ram Chandra Sah.

On their return from Mumbai, the Kamtes realised that the jewellery was missing and immediately lodged an FIR.

After the arrest of Ram Chandra and Jai Prakash, police deposited the ornaments in a Saran court. However, Ram Chandra later received bail from Patna high court.

Vinita came to Chhapra and presented herself before the CJM on Wednesday, Sep 22. When she saw Jai Prakash in the dock, she melted and filed a petition in court, pleading for an out-of-court settlement.

She also appealed for pardon to Jai Prakash who has been lodged in the Chhapra Jail for the past nine months.
