New Zealand, Canada, Scotland delay team for CWG

Wellington, Sep 23: After Canada and Scotland decided to delay departures for Games, New Zealand too joined in delaying arrival of athletes by at least two days because of the “tremendously disappointing" state of the athletes" Village.

The actual date was due to arrive in New Delhi this weekend but the New Zealand Olympic Committee on Thursday, Sep 23 called on athletes to delay their travel while outstanding issues with the Village are rectified.

NZOC president Mike Stanley says, “The long list of outstanding issues has made it clear the Village will not be ready for New Zealand athletes to move in as planned."
