Cong selects 70 candidates for Bihar polls

New Delhi, Sep 22: Just a month left for the Bihar elections, the Congress on Wednesday, Sep 22 finally listed out 70 candidates after a meeting attended by Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and All India Congress Committee in-charge of Bihar, Mukul Wasnik.

According to CNN-IBN, the party is going to fight alone in all the 243 seats. And the names of candidates will be declared later.

Report further said that the party will focus on giving tickets to youths irrespective of caste, race or religion.

The congress had earlier held meeting on Sep 14 and sought out details of every seat as there were at least 10 serious contenders for each of the seats.

The report was sent by Bihar Pradesh Election Committee to the AICC after a two-day meeting in Patna over a week back.
