Cong leaders meet to discuss Bihar polls strategy

New Delhi, Sep 22: The Congress election committee headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and party president Sonia Gandhi met to discuss strategy for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections at 10 Janpath, Sonia Gandhi"s residence on Wednesday, Sep 22.

Congress sources said the leaders would discuss the general criteria for screening candidates for the elections in Bihar, to be held from Oct 21.

Several other Congress senior party leaders like Arjun Singh, Pranab Mukherjee, M L Fotedar, A K Antony, P Chidambaram were also present in the meeting.

The six-phase Bihar election will take place on Oct 21 (47 assembly constituencies), Oct 24 (45 constituencies), Oct 28 (48 constituencies), Nov 1 (42 constituencies), Nov 9 (35 constituencies) and Nov 20 (26 constituencies).
